The Ross Center

Pensacola State College’s main athletic facility was officially renamed the Louis A. Ross Health and Sports Center on September 23, 1988, honoring the professor, registrar, and first head basketball coach Lou Ross. Coach Ross was instrumental at Pensacola State College, both athletically and academically.

The Ross Center is home to the athletic department administrative offices, the athletic ticket office, an indoor swimming pool, and intercollegiate and intramural locker rooms.  The Donn Peery Hall of Fame Room was established on February 15, 2000 in honor of longtime Athletic Director, Dr. Donn Peery.

This multi-purpose facility has hosted graduation ceremonies and other events including the Escambia County History Fair, the PSC Summer Dance Workshop, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquets. Candidates Bob Dole, Dick Cheney, and John McCain have all used the Ross Center during presidential campaign stops in Pensacola.

The Ross Center has a total of 11,500 square feet of floor space with the lower levels retracted, and a maximum seating capacity of 1,000.
