PSC Falls In Conference Opener to NWF 5-2

Pensacola State Baseball couldn't come up with the big hit Tuesday night in a 5-2 loss to Northwest Florida.  Sophomore Dominick Miller would get the start for the Pirates on the mound and would give up two unearned runs in the first inning to give NWF a 2-0 lead.

Pensacola would cut into the the Raider lead with a run in the 3rd inning. Shortstop Juan Trinidad would lead off the inning with a single to center and would eventually get to third base. With two outs, Brayden Morrow would drive in Trinidad with a single to center and get the Pirates on the score board. Northwest Florida would answer with solo homeruns in the 4th and 5th innings to increase their lead to 5-1. 

Xavier Bussey would start the 6th inning for the Pirates with a double to left-center. Brayden Morrow would follow Bussey by reaching on an error to give PSC runners on first and third with no outs. The Pirates would only manage to get one run in the inning. 

In the bottom of the 9th inning, The Pirates would threaten to get back in the ballgame. PSC would load the bases with two outs but Juan Trinidad would strike out to end the game. 

Dominick Miller would take the loss on the mound for Pensacola. He would go 5 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs and 3 strikeouts. 

PSC would only record 5 hits in the game. Allende Gil would lead Pensacola by going to 2-4. 

Pensacola will host NWF on Thursday at 5:00pm.
