Pirates Open Conference with Two Wins

March 7th

TCC 1 PSC 9

The Pirates run-ruled TCC in eight innings, led by the offensive performance of Blaydon Plain. Plain had two homeruns on the day, four RBI, and three runs scored. He was not alone, with five other Pirates having multi-hit games. Todd Clay, Michael Young, Jonathan Little, John Smith and Jackson Hiatt combined for 12 hits in the game. Hiatt added to his homerun total with a 2-run homerun and four RBI on the day.

On the mound, Josiah Glodfelter was perfect through 7.2 innings, not allowing a single baserunner. The perfect game was broken up in the 8th inning with a seeing eye single that made it out of the infield. Glodfelter ended his 8-inning complete game with six strikeouts and only allowed three hits. Glodfelter moves to 7-0 on the season.

 

March 8th

PSC 12 TCC 8

The Pirates were led by great offensive performances from Carter McCulley and John Smith. McCulley finished the day with two doubles, a homerun, and accounted for seven of the 12 Pirate runs. John Smith had a 4-hit day that included a homerun while driving in three runs and scoring three more of his own.

Julian Mlodzinski got the start and went six innings, striking out three and only allowing three runs to score. Tucker Jackson got the win by coming in and going 2.2 innings, striking out one and only allowing one hit to give the Pirates the edge over TCC.
