Pirates Clinch Playoff Spot with Victory Over Chipola

Pensacola State College (PSC) baseball team traveled to Chipola this past Saturday, needing just one win to secure 3rd place and advance to the playoffs. The Pirates delivered, winning the first game 8-5 and clinching their spot.
Chipola took an early lead, going up 2-0 after the second inning. However, PSC responded with a powerful third inning, scoring six runs to take the lead. The Indians answered back with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but the Pirates extended their lead to 8-4 in the sixth.
Chipola threatened in the bottom of the seventh but managed only one run before the Pirates closed out the game. Taft Middleton had an impressive performance, going 3-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Kaden Wilks and Drew Reaves also contributed with home runs. Cole Ingole earned the win, pitching 2.2 innings, while Dalton Biggs closed the game strong, allowing only four hits.
Pensacola State now travels to Palatka to face Eastern Florida State in the play-in game, scheduled for 4:00 pm today.
