Men's Basketball Joins Miracle League

On Friday night, the Pensacola State Men's Basketball team spent their evening under the lights with the Miracle League Pensacola (MLP) baseball league. The Miracle League provides physically and mentally challenged individuals a safe and spirited program which they can hit, run, and catch on a baseball field.

Coach Pena and his team partnered with several teams to help the players compete a 3 inning game. Each Pirate was partnered with a player in the Miracle League and participated in the entire game with them by running the base path, assisting them in the field, and enjoying their fellowship throughout the evening. "It was great to see the involvement that our players had, and the personal touch that everyone enjoyed" said Coach Pena. "We thank Pensacola North Rotary for letting us get involved."

The Pirates look to continue their relationship with MLP in the near future. "I'm glad we had the opportunity to participate in the game tonight. It was a neat experience to see the sheer joy the players had competing against each other throughout the night" said Pirates' sophomore forward, Willesley Butler.
