Pensacola State Falls to Lamar State on Late Free Throws

On Tuesday night, Pensacola State would fall to Lamar State on two free throws with under a second remaining and lose 72-71. With Pensacola claiming a 1-point lead, Devaughn Thomas would draw a foul with .7 seconds and knock down both free throws to give Lamar State the win. 

Pensacola would lead by as much as 13 points but turnovers down the stretch would allow the Seahawks to get back in the game. Lamar State was led by Jamyus Jones with 18 points and Devaughn Thomas who recorded his third double-double of the year with 14 points and 10 rebounds. 

Pensacola's Shawndarius Cowart scored 17 points with five assists and six rebounds to lead the Pirates' while freshman Cheickna Sissoko put together a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double performance.

Pensacola finishes off the Thanksgiving Classic with Trinity Valley tomorrow at 4:00.
