The Pirates headed down to Sarasota to end the 2021 year to take on State College of Florida-Manatee and Polk State.
In their first outing, the Pirates came out red hot versus Manatee, shooting 55.9% overall, and 46.2% from the 3-point line. They had four players finish the game in double digits as they went on to win 83-62.
Zondrick Garrett led the way with 21 points while Jarveil Gainey and Truth Harris added 14 points apiece each. Naim Miller finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The following day the Pirates took on Polk State, and despite having a better overall shooting percentage from the field and from three, Pensacola came up short 62-59.
The Pirates were led again by Zondrick Garrett who had 17 points, while D'Anthony Pennington and Truth Harris added 14 points apiece.
Pensacola will open up conference play Thursday, January 6th, as they take on Gulf Coast State at home, at 7:30 pm.
