Pirate Defense Smothers Gulf Coast

The Pirates got a much needed win on the road against a very good Gulf Coast team on Wednesday night.

The Commodores entered the game averaging 79 points a game and Pensacola held them to a paltry 45. It was a strong return to the lineup for Elijah Wyche as he came off the bench to record a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first game in awhile that PSC had every player available.

Gulf Coast started hot and the Pirates found themselves down 14 early in the first half, but the defense picked up the intensity. From the 10-minute mark Gulf coast only scored 22 points the rest of the game.

Jalen Keago added 10 points and seven rebounds while Dylan Colon chipped in eight points and five rebounds. Dimitri Clerc added seven points and six rebounds off the bench.

Pensacola will host Chipola on Saturday, February 3rd at 4:00 pm.
