The Pensacola State Pirates had an impressive run over the Christmas break, playing five games and securing four victories.
The Pirates kicked off their break with two consecutive wins against East Mississippi. In the first game, they dominated with a 66-47 victory. Will Vasser led the team with 19 points, while Dimitri Clerc contributed 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Dylan Colon was instrumental in playmaking, dishing out eight assists.
The second game saw the Pirates continue their winning streak with a 62-52 win. Dimitri Clerc was again a standout performer, scoring 18 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Will Vasser and Amarion Savage each added 12 points, and Dylan Colon chipped in with 10 points.
After New Year's, the Pirates traveled to Tennessee and faced Jackson State, securing a commanding 90-67 victory. Isaiah Sutherland led the scoring with 19 points, followed by Will Vasser with 14 points. Dimitri Clerc added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Amarion Savage and Dylan Colon each had seven assists, contributing to the team's total of 26 assists.
The Pirates' only setback came against Columbia State, where they struggled to find their rhythm due to numerous foul calls, resulting in a 65-48 loss. Johnathon Pierce scored 13 points, and Amarion Savage added 12 points in the effort.
Returning home, the Pirates were welcomed by a large crowd and delivered a 72-54 win against Coastal Alabama-North. Amarion Savage led the team with 15 points, followed by Dylan Colon with 14 points and Ethan McDonald with 13 points. Johnathon Pierce came off the bench to secure a team-high seen rebounds, and Savage also contributed seven assists.
The Pirates are set to begin Panhandle play on Saturday at 4:00 PM against the No. 14 ranked Chipola. With their recent performances, the team is poised to make a strong showing in the upcoming games.
