The Pirates traveled to Chipola on Thursday and dropped two games to the no. 2 team in the nation.
The first game slipped away early and Pensacola could not recover. The Indians used a grand slam in the first inning to help themselves to a 5-0 lead. The Pirates were able to load the bases in the top of the second, but could not push a run across.
Raquel Latta was the only Pirate to pick up a hit in the game.
The Pirate bats were more productive in game two, but they could never get the big hit to drive in any runs and they fell 7-0. Savannah Foster went the distance on the mound and struck out eight while only allowing two earned runs in the game.
Ashley Valencia was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate while Madison Myers was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and Sadie Rusteika chipped in one hit.
Pensacola will travel to Panama City on Monday to face Gulf Coast State in a doubleheader.
