Raquel Latta has signed and will continue her playing career at Southern University.

She is an infielder that spent time at third and second base, while also appearing in the circle mainly as a relief pitcher. As a freshman she batted .288 with 6 doubles and 17 RBI's. This past season she was hitting at a .278 clip before the season was shutdown. 

Latta was also named to the FCSAA and Panhandle All-Academic Teams during her tenure as a Pirate. As an aspiring journalist she was also published in the PSC Corsair multiple times.

Southern University is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is an NCAA Division I team that participates in the Southwestern Athletics Conference. The Jaguars are led by veteran Head Coach John Garris.
