The Lady Pirate basketball team defeated Coastal Alabama-North 106-63 in their season opener in Monroeville, Alabama on Tuesday. Two sophomores led the way offensively as Nia Johnson scored 19 points and handed out four assists while Ta'Sheanne Armstrong chipped in 17 points. Naterria Luster, Tyana Porter and Aminat Jubril each pulled down seven rebounds in the game. Each Lady Pirate that suited up for the game got their name in the scoring column.
The Lady Pirates will hit the road this weekend to face Daytona State on Friday and Florida Southwestern on Saturday in the Chipola Classic in Marianna, FL.
