Lady Pirates Remain Undefeated

The no. 10 nationally ranked Lady Pirates improved their record to 16-0 this weekend as they picked up wins over visiting Roxbury Community College and Wayne County Community College. 

Roxbury is out of Massachusetts and is the defending National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national champion. The Lady Pirates took control early in the game and cruised to an 83-47 victory. Ta'Sheanne Armstrong was on fire from beyond the arc as she sank 7-out-of-11 three pointers and led all scorers with 21 points. Mylaysia Yancey finished with 13 points and Kaloni Pryear chipped in 12 points. Aminat Jubril leed the team in rebounding with 12 while Nia Johnson dished ouot a team high eight assists. 

On Saturday the Lady Pirates took on Wayne County CC (Mi.) and defeated them 98-39. Five Lady Pirates scored in double figures as Nia Johnson led the way with 20 points, Ta'Sheanne Armstrong had 18 and Naterria Luster put up 17. Mylashia Yancey posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Aminat Jubril grabbed 10 rebounds. 

The Lady Pirates are headed into Christmas break and will resume play in January. The next home game will be January 6th versus no. 6 Northwest Florida at 5:30 pm.
