The Lady Pirate basketball team played well on sophomore night and defeated Chipola College 77-66.
Pensacola State trailed 19-17 after the first quarter, but then they turned it on in the second quarter and outscored the Indians 24-15. Mylashia Yancey was hot in the first half and drained five 3-pointers in route to tallying 23 points in the game.
Chipola tried to make a run in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Pirates stayed strong to cruise to a victory. Naterria Luster scored 20 points in the game while Nia Johnson contributed 16 points.
After the game PSC recognized their six sophomores: Ta'Sheanne Armstrong, Nia Johnson, Aminat Jubril, Naterria Luster, Tyana Porter and Ahyiona Vason.
The Lady Pirates will travel to Tallahassee on Saturday for their final game of the season.
