Lady Pirates Drop Game to Tallahassee

Lady Pirates Drop Game to Tallahassee

Both teams started the game strong as the first quarter saw seven ties and the lead swapped back and forth multiple times. Ultimately Tallahassee took a one point lead into the second quarter and continued to build on it giving themselves a 36-28 lead at halftime.

The Pirates were shorthanded, as Brandi Washington sat out the game due to injury, and never quite found their offensive rhythm. The Eagles found their offensive stroke in the third quarter and slowly started to put the game out of reach.

Kaiya Burnett led the offense with 19 points while Xerina Walker (11 pts/13 reb) and Zamaria Polk (11 pts/10 reb) both recorded double-doubles. Pensacola State worked hard on the boards and out rebounded TCC 49-40 as Kailya Jackson was the third Pirate to reach double figures as she grabbed 10.

Pensacola State will host Chipola College on Wednesday, February 6th at 5:30 pm.
