Lady Pirates Close Out Season Versus Tallahassee

The Lady Pirate basketball team closed out their season Saturday night with an 83-64 loss to Tallahassee. 

Pensacola came out strong and held the lead until until about the two minute mark when Tallahassee eventually took over. 

Kaiya Burnett was the high scorer for the Lady Pirates recording 19 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Xerina Walker had a strong performance and recorded a double-double by scoring 15 and pulling down a game high 13 rebounds. Anita Payne was the only other PSC player to score in double digits by chipping in 10 points. 

The Lady Pirates honored their four sophomores after the game. Brandi Washington concluded the season as the leading scorer despite missing the last few games due to injury. She averaged 17 points per game on the season. Kailya Jackson who transferred to PSC this season started 23 games and averaged seven points a game and 5.1 rebounds. Sade Mobley saw her minutes increase throughout the season and was a strong defensive presence. Lastly, Savannah Walker-Lafler was a presence in the paint for PSC and improved on all of her statistics from last season.

Pensacola completes the season with an overall record of 14-14.
