Volleyball Has Successful Weekend

The Pirate volleyball team picked up three wins over the weekend to move their record to 9-6 on the season. Every available Pirate player received necessary playing time and the team was able to get quality work in on specific in match situations. "It was good to see how we competed regardless of who started or came off the bench," Coach Chris Laird said, "We are striving for a good week of practice as we prepare to host Florida State College Jacksonville and Santa Fe who are currently first and second place in the conference."

PSC 3 Andrew College 0

The Pirates collected 34 kills overall as they easily defeated Andrew College 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-13). Elizabeth Thompson led the team with seven kills.

 

PSC 3 Gadsden State 0

In the first game against Gadsden State the Pirates won handily 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-12). The Pirates had two hitters with double digit kills as Ytae Cobb collected 11 and Bentley Odom recorded 10. Allison von Brock helped lead the defense with 5 digs in the match.

Pensacola State also took a 3-0 (25-18, 31-29, 28-26) win in their second game versus Gadsden State. The Pirates hhammered out 50 kills in the match as a team with Elizabeth Thompson leading the way with 10. Annie Bradshaw helped anchor the defense as she picked up six digs in the match.
