Volleyball Concludes Tough Road Swing

Volleyball completed a four match road trip to Daytona Beach this past weekend. Even though they did not pull out any wins the coaches felt they played better with each match.

"We played great against Polk State who is ranked number 2 in the NJCAA National poll," said head coach Jennie Belarmino. "We fought the whole match and never gave up."

Brook-Lynn Sandford had a great match against Polk with 11 kills, two errors and a .375 attack efficiency. Coach Belarmino praised Sandford, "I am proud of Brook-Lynn and her aggressiveness during the match."

The weekend also featured a 5-set thriller with Palm Beach State. Jordan Wood and Alex Pierre both recorded nine kills in the match while Madison Fisher collected 16 digs.

In the final match of the weekend against Broward College, Reilly Landreneau tallied a weekend high 22 digs.

The Pirates next game will be on Wednesday, September 11 when they travel to Gulf Coast State for a match at 6:00 pm.
