At Select Physical Therapy, we offer physical therapy to athletes who need to continue healing from the comfort and safety of their homes through our telerehab program. During this unprecedented time fo social distancing, we will virtually bring our services to athletes so they have a rehabilitation program that helps them heal, build strength and be ready to train with your team when a normal schedule resumes.

What is TeleRehab

TeleRehab lets athletes easily connect with one of our licensed therapists through web-based technology, all from the convenience of their home. Sessions are delivered one-on-one in real-time and are private, secure, and adhere to HIPAA requirements.

How does this work?

TeleRehab sessions may be offered in place of or in addition to in-person center sessions, dependent upon the athlete's condition and preference, Simply contact you, local onsite clinician, to arrange for telerehab care. All that's needed is a computer or device with a camera, microphone and internet access to begin.

  • We will cover:
    • Pertinent paperwork
    • Therapeutic exercises, education and techniques to address their pain and impairments
    • Instruction on how to best move forward with the physical therapy program.

Running injuries can be prevented. Here’s how.

Recently, I had a runner try to increase their pace by 30 seconds from one weekend to the next. The result? Severe pain along the inside of their shin and the start of spending two days a week in physical therapy.

Many running injuries are due to overuse and/or improper training. Up to 70% of recreational and competitive distance runners sustain an overuse running injury during any one-year period.1 One of my favorite questions to ask runners is, “Other than running, what exercises are you doing?” Usually the response is, “You mean running isn’t enough exercise?”
