Sophomore catcher Josh Rulli has committed to the University of Tampa to continue his baseball career.

The Riverview, FL native will play for head coach Joe Urso at the University of Tampa. Coach Urso has led the Spartans to 4 national championships during his tenure.

During his freshman campaign, Rulli played in every game splitting time behind the plate and at DH. Josh hit .276 on the year and led the Pirates in doubles with 14 and RBi's with 36.

"We are very excited for Josh on his committment to the University of Tampa" says head coach Bryan Lewallyn. "He's has been a big threat in the middle of our lineup since his arrival and should continue that this season not only at the plate but behind the plate as well. Josh should fit in perfectly at a great program like the University of Tampa and help continue their expectations of competing for a National Championship."
