Sam Knowlton has committed to the University of South Alabama and coach Mark Calvi to continue his baseball career. Coach Calvi took over the Jags program in 2012 and during his tenure South Alabama has been one of the top contenders in the Sunbelt Conference. In the last five seasons, the Jaguars have tied or won the Sunbelt three times and have participated in two regionals.

Knowlton came to Pensacola after transferring from Mississippi State. In his two seasons with the Pirates, Knowlton would record 45 strikeouts in 43 innings of work. In a shortened sophomore season, Sam would establish himself as a go-to guy out of the bullpen for the Pirates.

Knowlton should be a big piece to the Jaguars bullpen next season.
