Allante Hall Signs With Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins made their third signing of the undrafted free agent period in catcher Allante Hall of Pensacola State College. Hall, who was committed to the University of Arkansas, made his way to Pensacola after spending a year at Howard Community College in Texas. Hall would make an impact defensively for the Pirates this season by throwing out 40% of would be baserunners. He would hit .213 in the shortened 2020 season.

Hall was asked what this dream of playing professional baseball means to him. "I don't really see it as a dream come true. It's more like a mission, a mission I have accomplished through the help of a lot of people and through a lot of hard work," Hall added. Although he wasn't chosen in last week's MLB Draft, Hall said the Twins kept in close contact with him during the two day affair.  "Their regional scout, Mr. Jack Powell, talked to me and asked if I would be interested in signing with the Twins if I was not drafted, and I told him I would be," Hall said. Hall was drafted by the Texas Rangers out of high school but opted  for the college route instead. "I wasn't ready to sign out of high school," Hall explained. "I am ready now. I am giving myself two years to see what I can do, how much I improve and to see if I have the opportunity to make it to the big leagues with the Twins. Hall becomes the fourth Pirate in the last two seasons to be picked up by a major league team. The Twins said they would keep in touch with me and my agent and that when the time comes, I will be assigned to their Rookie League team in Fort Myers, Florida. And I can promise you, I will be ready."
