Baseball Splits With Chipola

The Pirate baseball team split their series with Chipola this past week.

In the first game, Pensacola won 9-2 and was led by Bayron Acevedo who was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Colton Ryals, Rudd Ulrich and Diego Clariot each had two hits a piece in the contest.

Pitcher Jake Cohen went 6.1 innings allowing just two runs and zero walks. Court Connally came in on relief for 2.2 innings and earned the save giving up zero runs.

Pensacola dropped the second game 5-1. Matt Abshire was 2-for-3 and Colton Ryals went 2-for-4 with a walk.

The Pirates hosted Chipola in a doubleheader on Saturday to close out the series.

In game one Pensacola lost a close contest 9-6. Darrien McDowell was 2-for-4 with a homerun and two RBI's.

The second game of the day PSC bounced back with a 10-7 win. Colton Ryals, Wyatt Strickland and Matt Abshire paced the offense with each recording two hits. Ryals homered and doubled in the game while tallying three RBI's. 

Ryan Keeley got the win after going 4.2 innings in relief.
