Baseball Qualifies for State

The Pirate baseball team won six out of their last eight games to finish as runner up in the Panhandle Conference and earn a berth to the Florida State Tournament.

Pensacola was led by Josiah Glodfelter, who earned three of the Pirates wins on the mound. In total throughout the last two weeks of the season, Glodfelter pitched 19.1 innings, allowing only two runs and striking out 29 batters.

In the Pirates six wins, the offense scored a total of 51 runs, while hitting 14 homeruns. Blaydon Plain led the way offensively on the season hitting 17 homeruns, breaking the school's all-time record.

The Pirates will travel to Miami Dade to play a three-game series in the first round of the State Tournament.

The series will begin Friday, May 5th at 2:00 pm eastern time.
