The Pirates faced an early deficit against Gulf Coast, trailing 5-1 after the second inning. However, Anthony Sedam's stellar performance on the mound in the fifth inning provided a much-needed boost. Sedam held the Commodores at bay for 2.2 innings, allowing the Pirates to mount a comeback.
With Gulf Coast up 8-6 in the seventh inning, Lincoln Pack delivered a clutch pinch-hit 2-run homerun to tie the game. Gulf Coast managed to plate two runs in the ninth inning, securing a 10-8 victory.
Will Barter was a standout for the Pirates, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs. The Pirates will look to bounce back when they host Northwest Florida on Friday at 2:00 pm.
