Pirates Fall 83-79 to College of Central Florida

Pensacola Men's Basketball traveled down to Ocala, Florida for the annual Florida Shootout hosted by College of Central Florida over the weekend. On Friday night, Pensacola played the fifth game of the day against the host College of Central Florida. The game began as a close back and forth contest with the Pirates having an early 3-point lead half way through the first half. The Patriots would open things up taking a 7 point lead into halftime. In the second half, CCF opened the lead to 10 with 7:39 to go. The Pirates would go on a run tying the game at 65 on a pair of Bryce Waterman 3-pointers. Central Florida rebuilt their lead to 6 at 73-67 with two minutes left. The Pirates would claw back but CCF would make crucial free-throws down the stretch to close out the Pirates. 

The Pirates are now 9-5 on the season. Shawndarius Cowart led PSC with a career high 31 points to go along with 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Rodney Smith had 13 points and Bryce Waterman would add 12 points for the Pirates. Pensacola will play the second game Sunday at 2pm (EST) against Polk State who beat FSC-Jacksonville on Friday.
