PSC Tops Polk State 101-99 In Overtime

Pensacola State (10-5) ended it's three game losing streak by defeating Polk State College 101-99 in OT. Polk State had already beaten two other Panhandle Conference teams earlier this year (Chipola and Gulf Coast) and was looking for a third. The game consisted of 11 ties and seven lead changes. Both teams would go back and forth the majority of the game until Pensacola would finally put Polk away. In overtime PSC would out score Polk 9-7 in OT with Shawdarius Cowart hitting the winning bucket with 2.9 left on the clock. Polk State would try to tie it up but the ensuing inboud pass would be intercepted to end the game.

The Pirates would have six players in double figures. Bryce Waterman would lead all Pirates with 21 points. Josh Williams dropped in 19 points and Carlos Rosario would add 16 points for Pensacola.

PSC will head into Christmas Break at 10-5 on the season. The next games for the Pirates will be at the Tallahassee Classic on Dec.28th and 29th.
