PSC Goes On The Road And Defeats Gulf Coast 89-80

Pensacola State defeated Gulf Coast  89-80 to take the series two games to one for the year.  With the win, Pensacola (16-10, 5-4) moves to a game and a half behind Gulf Coast for second place in the Panhandle Conference standings. 

 

The Pirates trailed Gulf Coast (20-6, 7-3) 44-40 at the end of the first half. Carlos Rosario would take over the game in the second half, scoring 24 of his 26 points after halftime. With Rosario's second half spark, Pensacola would take control of the game. The Pirates would lead by as much as 18 points in the second half before eventually closing out the Commodores 89-80. 

Freshman Josh Williams scored 15 points on 3 of 5 shooting, while knocking down 9 of 10 from the foul-line. 

Shawndarius Cowart was 4 of 10 from the field with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.  

 

Gulf Coast was led by Cameron Holden with 25 points and Jacoby Owens with 21 points.  Maurice Gordon and Jammy Pierre-Louis also added 10 points apiece. 

 

Pensacola plays, at home, versus Chipola on Saturday at 7:30 PM.
