Head Coach Pete Pena returns to the sideline this season for his 13th year leading the Men's Basketball program at Pensacola State. Six players return from last year's roster, which includes 44% of the scoring and 41% of the rebounding production from a season ago. The six players returning include a First Team All-Panhandle Conference selection, as well as, three members of the Region 8 All-Academic Team.

Headlining the returners, is the aforementioned First Team All-Panhandle selection, Jalen Keago. The 6'5" guard hails from Milwaukee, WI and averaged 10.3 points per game while shooting over 40% from behind the 3-point arc in his freshman campaign for the Pirates.

Brendan Terry, a 6'7" forward from Santa Monica, CA returns to the Emerald Coast for his second season after posting averages of 5.8 PPG and 4 RPG in 29 games played, including six starts. Terry made the top-20 All-Star Game this summer in Atlanta at the JUCO RECRUITING event where hundreds of Division 1 Coaches were in attendance.

Continuing at the forward spot is returner, Colin Howells, who looks to build on a solid freshman season that saw him shoot 35% from 3-point land while starting 11 games a season ago.

Enmanuel Ferreras, a 6'5" do it all type of player also returns for the Pirates. The native of the Dominican Republic averaged 15 minutes per game last season, often drawing the task of guarding the opponent's best player. Enmanuel averaged an impressive 8.5 rebounds per 40 game while playing guard.

The final two returners from the 2022-2023 squad are Calik "Duke" Thomas and Jonathan Norman. Thomas played in 29 games a season ago, averaging 17 minutes per contest where he shot nearly 40% from the field. Jonathan Norman saw action in 11 games and was named to the Region 8 All-Academic team.
