The Pirates defeated Trinity Valley, the no. 6 team in the nation, on Monday with a score of 59-51.
In a very tough, physical game Pensacola outlasted the Cardinals down the stretch with Jalen Keago making two crucial baskets to keep the momentum on the Pirates side.
In the first half PSC showed off their defensive prowess and went into the break up 30-15.
The defensive play of Calik "Duke" Thomas was a big key to the Pirate victory. Keago was the high scorer in the game with 15 points while Dylan Colon added 11 and Ryan Richardson contributed outstanding point guard play. Brendan Terry pulled down a team high 13 rebounds.
The win puts the Pirates at 7-1 on the season. They will face Jones College tonight at 6:00 pm.
