Pirates Show Strong Defense and Rebounding Effort in Panhandle Opener

Saturday night marked the opening of Panhandle play with the Pirates facing off against No. 14 Chipola, the team favored to win the conference. The Pirates demonstrated their strength in rebounding, a crucial factor against the formidable Indians and won 62-50.

Dimitri Clerc had an impressive performance, going 5-for5 from the field and 4-of-8 from the free throw line for 14 points. The team's defense was outstanding and played a significant role in the game. Will Vasser contributed with four crucial 3-point shots while scoring 14 and Johnathon Pierce provided a strong inside presence with four blocks and six rebounds. Dylan Colon was the final Pirate in double figures adding 13 points. 

Despite the tough competition, the Pirates showcased their resilience and teamwork. They will look to build on this performance in their next game at Tallahassee on Wednesday.
