Chipola came out strong and aggressive, quickly establishing an eight-point lead in the first half. However, Pensacola made key adjustments during halftime, allowing them to settle down and gradually chip away at the deficit.
Dimitri Clerc was a standout performer for the Pirates, recording an impressive double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Will Vasser contributed 16 points, while Johnathon Pierce added 13 points off the bench.
Pensacola took the lead for the first time with about three minutes remaining in the game and continued to build on their momentum. They outscored Chipola 46 to 30 in the second half, securing a hard-fought victory.
Coach Pete Pena praised his team's resilience and composure, stating, "I'm real proud of our kids and their maturity. We did not panic and kept the course. Our kids did a fabulous job of hanging in and playing physical."
