Pirates Defeated by Chipola

Both teams were tough on the mound in the first game on Tuesday, but Chipola proved to be a little bit stronger at the plate. The Indians were able to capitalize on their four hits while the Pirates could not manage to push any runs across with their four hits and lost the game 3-0. Kacie Cahill, Lani Kaleikini, Shelby Thornsberry and Caitlyn Yockey each recorded a hit for PSC. Erika Greek had a strong outing on the mound as she threw seven innings and struck out four while allowing four hits.

In game two, Chipola plated five runs in two different innings to easily handle the Pirates and claim the Panhandle Conference Championship with their 13-2 win. Danielle de Ruiter was the leading hitter for the Pirates as she went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's, while Emily Corbitt also went 2-for-4 and Alexandra Verardi was 1-for-2 with a double and walk.
