Softball Falls to Northwest Florida

After both teams got on the board in the first inning the score remained knotted 2-2 until Northwest pushed more runs late in the game. Northwest capitalized on a error in the top of the first to help score their first two runs. The Pirates did answer back in the bottom half of the inning when Kacie Cahill walked and was followed by Madison Marshall who launched a home run to tie the game. Defense and pitching held for both teams until the sixth inning when Northwest strung some singles together to take a 4-2 lead and eventually won the game 6-2.

The Pirates watched the game slip away early and could not recover in an 11-1 loss in game two. PSC scored its lone run in the bottom of the first when Emily Corbitt led off with a double, Kacie Cahill walked and Madison Marshall singled to setup a bases loaded sacrifice fly RBI from Jensen Strickland. Marshall was the leading batter for the Pirates going 2-for-3 while Alexandra Verardi was 1-for-2 with a double and walk.
