Valencia Commits to Barry University

Pensacola State sophomore Ashley Valencia will continue her college career at Barry University next season. 

The outfielder, who hails from Black Mountain, North Carolina was an All-Panhandle Second Team selection as a freshman when she batted .388 with four home runs and 29 runs batted in (RBI's). Before this season was cut short she was hitting at a .324 clip with two home runs and 11 RBI's. 

Valencia is also strong in the classroom and sported a 3.92 grade point average upon graduation from PSC. As a freshman she was awarded NJCAA All-Academic Third Team honors, FCSAA All-Academic and All-Panhandle. 

Located in Miami Shores, Florida, the NCAA Division II Buccaneer's compete in the Sunshine State Conference. Head Coach Sean Cotter took over the Barry program in 2017 and has 17 years of collegiate coaching under his belt.
