Pirates Tame the Wildcats in Doubleheader Sweep

The game started off with the Pirates taking advantage of hitting first with a Tori Ratigan single, followed by a stolen base and an RBI double from Susanna Soldi to push across the first run.

The Pirates would score again in the third with Mya Geros leading off the inning on a bunt to the third baseman. She would then steal second and score on a Tori Ratgian double. Georgia Hood would follow suit and double to right field driving in Ratigan.

The Pirates would put up four more runs to finish out the game notching 11 hits.

Tori Ratigan went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two doubles. Cameron Wolfenden had two hits, one of which was a double and recorded two RBI's.

Susanna Soldi, Georgia Hood, Brianna Duggins and Jenna Trim all had one RBI respectively.

Jenna Trim got the win in the circle only allowing three hits in six innings and recording seven strikeouts in the shutout.

PSC 13 Bishop State 5 (5 innings)

The Pirates kept the bats hot going into the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, putting up 13 runs and 11 RBI's in the victory. 

Tori Ratigan led off for the Pirates, starting the game with a double to centerfield, followed by a Susanna Soldi infield single. Georgia Hood singled up the middle to score Ratigan and Soldi to advance to third. Jenna Trim followed suit with a single up the middle to score Soldi.

Bishop State would fight back in the bottom half of the first and put up three runs of their own. With a few hits to start of the inning followed by a few errors Bishop State was able to capitalize to tie the ballgame at three.

Pensacola hit back in the top of the second putting up four runs to take the lead for good. They would score again in the third to make it 8-3. The final runs of the game would come in the 5^th for the Pirates with a string of hits from the middle of the lineup.

Bishop State fought hard to score their two final runs. One coming in the third with back-to-back doubles, while their last run of the game would be in the 5^th. 

With this victory, Presley Williams picked up her second win on the year.

Susanna Soldi had a perfect game at the plate going 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI's. Georgia Hood and Jenna Trim were both 2-for-3 with two RBI's and a walk each. Cameron Buzzell notched a double with three RBI's and a walk while Mya Geros had two hits one of which was a triple.

The Pirates will be playing again at home on Thursday, February 17^th versus Chattanooga State at 3:00 and 5:00 pm.
