Pensacola opened play against Gulf Coast on Saturday and pulled out the 1-0 victory despite having to deal with an almost two hour weather delay in the middle of the game.

It was a defense and pitching affair for both squads as Pensacola was able to finally plate the winning run in the top of the seventh.

Susanna Soldi started the seventh with a single and Maddison Coones came on as a pinch runner and advanced to second on a ground ball. Jenna Trim followed with a single to left to put runners on the corner with one out. Coones was able to score on a ground ball from Cameron Buzzell.
