The Pirates watched the game slip away early and could not recover and lost the first game 4-2 on Saturday.
A 2-run homerun from Gulf Coast in the first inning gave them the lead and they never relinquished it.
Pensacola pushed one run across in the bottom of the second, but left the bases loaded.
In the fourth, the Commodores used a double and error to make it 4-1. A sacrifice fly from Mya Geros gave Pensacola it's second run but again they could not capitalize and left two more runners on base.
Isabelle Hanna was 2-for-2 in the game while Tori Ratigan and Brianna Duggins added two hits each.
Presley Williams came on in relief in the fourth inning and only gave up two hits while striking out three.

In the bottom of the seventh the Pirates attempted to rally when Jenna Trim hit a 2-run homerun to centerfield but the threat ended there.
