Georgia Hood polished off her impressive freshman campaign by being named NJCAA 2nd Team All-American.
The first baseman/pitcher from Mt. Gambier, Australia joined the Pirates in January and made an immediate impact. She led the team with a .440 batting average while sporting a .524 on base percentage. Hood drove in a team high 65 RBI while recording 16 doubles and nine homeruns.
In the circle, Hood finished the season with a team best 1.66 ERA while accumulating 91 strikeouts and 11 wins in 84.1 innings of work.
This summer Hood is playing with the Australian National Team and has competed in the Canada Cup and will play in the World Games starting this upcoming week in Birmingham, Alabama.
The State Player of the Year will return to Pensacola for her sophomore year.
