Softball Adds Some Wins

PSC 4 Jones 7

Jones College used four home runs in the game the top the Pirates at the Sun Chief Classic in Gulf Shores.

Georgia Hood was 3-for-4 in the game with two doubles while Samantha Ladowski was a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Bre'Asia Thomas was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

PSC 6 LSU-Eunice 12

The Pirates fought their way back into the game tying it up in the sixth inning, but Eunice proceeded to put up six unanswered runs in the seventh for the win.

Kylee Crowder was 2-for-2 with a run scored, walk and two RBi. Tori Ratigan was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored while Kasey Markusic was 2-for-3.

Mineral Area 0 PSC 9 (5 innings)

Pensacola bounced back on day two of the Sun Chief Classic to run rule Mineral Area 9-0.

Tori Ratigan and Kylee Crowder were both 3-for-3 with Crowder stroking a home run and collecting three RBI. Skylar Buzbee was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double while Brandie Seber legged out an inside the park home run.

Lydia Drake was near perfect in the circle striking out 11 and only allowing one hit.

Marion Military 6 PSC 7

The final game of the weekend was a thriller that the Pirates pulled out in exciting fashion.

Pensacola got on the board first in the bottom of the second when Kylee Crowder led off with a single and scored on a single from Kasey Markusic. Samantha Ladowski followed with PSC's second inside the park home run of the day to make it 3-0.

Marion promptly tied the score in the top of the third with a 3-run home run and then took the lead in the top of the fourth going up 5-3. They then added a run in the sixth to hold a 6-3 advantage.

In the bottom of the sixth Bri Duggins singled with one out and Kasey Markusic drew a walk to set the table for Samantha Ladowski to tie the game with a home run over the centerfield fence. Tori Ratigan started things again with a bunt single and advanced to third on Susanna Soldi's single and Georgia Hood drove a sacrifice fly to right to plate the go ahead run.

Presley Williams entered the circle in the seventh and closed out the game to pick up her first win of the season.

PSC 2 Mississippi Gulf Coast 0

The Pirates traveled to Perkinston, Mississippi on Wednesday and picked up a 2-0 win in the first game.

Pensacola got on the board in the second when Kylee Crowder laced a double to the fence to plate Bre'Asia Thomas. The Pirates added another run in the fourth when Georgia Hood led off with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Bri Duggins.

Lydia Drake pitched a gem for the win striking out 11 while only allowing three hits.

Bre'Asia Thomas was 2-for-2 with a walk and run scored.

PSC 2 Mississippi Gulf Coast 5

Pensacola could not get the bats going in the second game and fell 5-2.

PSC scored one in the first when Tori Ratigan led off with a single and stole second base before being driven in by Bre'Asia Thomas. Mississippi responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

The Pirates tied the game in the fourth when Bre'Asia Thomas led off with a single and scored on a double from Kylee Crowder

Unfortunately sloppy defense from PSC allowed MGC to score three in the fifth.

Bre'Asia Thomas was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored and Kylee Crowder was 1-for-3 with a double and RBI. Tori Ratigan had one hit, one run scored and one stolen base in the game.
