Softball Takes Down Coastal Alabama-South

The Pirates needed a rally in the top of the seventh to claim victory in the first game in Bay Minette on Tuesday.

PSC was ahead 3-0, but Coastal surged in the bottom of the sixth and utilized two 2-run home runs to take the lead going into the final frame.

With their backs against the wall, Georgia Hood led off with a single and Bre'Asia Thomas sacrificed her to second. Kylee Crowder stepped to the plate and singled to drive in the tying run. A walk to Skylar Buzbee set the table for Brianna Duggins to drive the first pitch over the center field fence to give the Pirates a 7-4 lead. One more insurance run was added on an RBI single from Susanna Soldi.

Madison Sabo entered the circle to close out the game and recorded three quick outs to pick up the win.

Tori Ratigan and Samantha Ladowski were both 2-for-3 in the game, each had a stolen base while Ratigan had two walks and Ladowski added a double. Kylee Crowder was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and a home run.

PSC 14 Coastal AL-South 3 (6 innings)

Pensacola used 17 hits to score 14 runs and take care of business and end the second game early.

Susanna Soldi was a perfect 4-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Tori Ratigan, Georgia Hood, Bre'Asia Thomas, Kylee Crowder and Skylar Buzbee all recorded two hits. Thomas and Crowder each tallied three RBI. Skylar Buzbee hit her first home run of her college career and Brianna Duggins hit her second home run of the day.

Madison Sabo started and got the win throwing five innings, allowing five hits. Gabriella Lindsey closed out the game in the sixth and struck out two batters.
