Both teams got on the board in the first inning and the score remained 1-1 until the fifth.

Tori Ratigan singled through the left side and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Susanna Soldi. Georgia Hood then drove a ball into left that scored Ratigan to give the Pirates the 2-1 lead.

They extended their lead in the top of the seventh when Soldi led off with a double and Hood drew a walk. Skylar Buzbee then bunted to advance both runners and Kylee Crowder drove a double to center field to plate both runs and round out the scoring.

Georgia Hood was 2-for-3 with a run, walk and RBI while Tori Ratigan was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Lydia Drake picked up her 16th win of the season throwing a complete game and only allowed three hits while getting six strikeouts.

NWF 5 PSC 0

Northwest plated a run in the first inning and never looked back. The Pirates threatened throughout the game with six different batters recording hits, but ended up leaving 10 runners on base.

Lydia Drake gave her all in the circle and tallied nine strikeouts in the game.

With the win NWF clinched the Panhandle Championship. Chipola and Gulf Coast will play on Tuesday and Pensacola will face the winner of that game for the remaining State playoff spot.

That game is scheduled for Thursday, April 27th at 4:00 pm at Pirate Field.
