Florida Southwestern State College

The Pirate softball team dropped their opening round game to no. 3 ranked Florida Southwestern on Friday morning.
The Buccaneers got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning with a 2-run home run.
With the score sitting at 4-0 going into the top of the fourth, Pensacola finally got on the board. With two outs, Brandie Seber reached on an error and advanced to third on a single from Bre'Asia Thomas. Brianna Duggins then singled to center to drive in PSC's lone run.
Pensacola left nine runners on base in the 6-1 loss. Susanna Soldi had a solid day going 3-for-4 with a double. Bre'Asia Thomas was 2-for-3 on the day.
Lydia Drake threw a complete game and allowed six hits, three earned runs and struck out four.
The Pirates will be back in action tomorrow in the 10:00 am EST game.
