Hood and Drake Named NFCA All-American

First baseman, Georgia Hood was named to the 1st Team while pitcher Lydia Drake received 2nd Team honors.
This is the second time Hood has been selected as an All-American. She upped all her offensive numbers from last season and led PSC in all major categories including a .459 batting average, .533 on base percentage, 18 home runs, 16 doubles and 65 RBI. Hood was also named the Region 8 Player of the Year and Panhandle Player of the Year for the second time.
The Australian native will play this summer with Team Australia in the WBSC World Cup in Ireland.
Sophomore, Lydia Drake received All-American honors for the first time. The southpaw hurler was a staple in the circle for the Pirate staff this season. Drake sported a 19-7 record and 1.96 ERA while throwing 161 innings. The powerful pitcher struck out 180 batters while only giving up 20 walks all season. She was named Panhandle Pitcher of the Year.
Drake has committed to continue her playing career at the University of South Carolina Upstate and will compete in the Big South Conference next season.
