Softball Season Comes to an End

Pensacola State's softball season ended when they lost to Seminole State in the playoff for the final spot in the Region 8 Tournament.

The teams met in Tallahassee for a winner takes all game and PSC came up short losing 8-4.

Seminole struck early with a 2-run home run in the top of the first and it took until the fourth inning for the Pirates to respond. With runners on first and second Gabbie York singled to drive in the first run and then Bre'Asia Thomas was able to tie the game when she took home on a routine groundout to the pitcher.

Pensacola then took the lead in the fifth when Hannah Waltman scored on a single from Marina Goins who later scored herself on a misplayed ball up the middle.

Unfortunately, the lead did not last as Seminole was able to push across three runs each in the sixth and seventh.

Gabbie York was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and RBI.

The Pirates close out the season with a record of 23-21.
