Jennifer McKibben joined the Pensacola State staff as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2015. She came from the University of New Mexico where she was an assistant coach from 2013-2015. 

McKibben worked with Lobo catchers, threw BP during practices and assisted in other capacities as needed.

Prior to UNM McKibben spent the last eight years as an assistant under Patti Townsend at Tallahassee Community College where she helped guide the Eagles to six appearances in the NJCAA Region8B/FCSAA Gulf District Tournament, capturing titles in 2008 and 2011.

In addition to serving as the recruiting and summer camp coordinator, McKibben mentored Tallahassee's pitchers, catchers and infielders and produced 50 All-Panhandle Conference players.

McKibben played college softball first at Tallahassee and then at Virginia Tech. While with the Eagles, she earned several accolades: First-team All-Panhandle Conference, All-FCSAA, All-Region, FCSAA All-Tournament and third team NFCA All-America. 

McKibben continued to flourish while playing at Virginia Tech under Scot Thomas. She was named First-team All-Atlantic 10 twice and also earned the Hokies' Defense Player of the Year in 1997 and the team's Most Valuable Player in 1998. Her name still stands in the VT record books. In addition to sharing the record for most home runs in a game (2), she finished her career among the Hokies' all-time leaders in batting average (5th, .332) and on base percentage (8th, .392).

McKibben began coaching softball in 1999, starting at the high school level. She has been a member of camp staffs at the University of Florida, Florida State University, Virginia Tech and the University of Texas-El Paso. She has also been a featured coach at Triple Crown Sports All-American games, both in Florida and Colorado.
