The Lady Pirates fell to the NJCAA no. 1 nationally ranked Gulf Coast State College, 87-62 in the first match up of Panhandle play.
Despite every single player on the team contributing in scoring column and three of them being in double figures, the Lady Pirates struggled defensively to put a stop to Gulf Coast's aggressive offense.
Anita Payne led all scorers with 15 points, going 3-for-9 from behind the 3-point arch. Kaiya Burnett scored 13 points and Jordyn Neal contributed 11 points.
The Lady Pirates will be at home for their next conference game on January 11th against Chipola College at 5:30 pm.
