Lady Pirates Top Tallahassee

The Pensacola State women's basketball team fought hard to defeat Tallahassee Community College (TCC) Wednesday night to pick up their first conference win. 

The Lady Pirates were leading 31-29 going into halftime, but found themselves trailing at the start of the final quarter. TCC had a 45-41 lead before Pensacola went on an 11-3 run to secure a 52-48 lead with about three minutes left in the game.

The game was exciting until the end as TCC pulled within two twice, but the Lady Pirates held strong and walked away with they 61-56 victory.

ZaMaria Polk had a dominant night for PSC as she scored 18 points while pulling down 23 rebounds. Kaiya Burnett contributed 16 points and four rebounds. 

The Lady Pirates will host Northwest Florida on Saturday, January 18th with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 pm. Pensacola State will also be debuting their brand new video scoreboards in Hartsell Arena that evening.
