Lady Pirates Prevail in Double OT

The Pensacola State women's basketball team was able to outlast Tallahassee (TCC) in double overtime on Wednesday night.

The game was knotted at 55 and the Lady Pirates had the final possession in regulation, but Anita Payne's 3-pointer missesd the mark and the teams headed to overtime.

Both teams exchanged points in the first overtime and TCC had the ball with time running out. Pensacola got the defensive stop with a blocked shot and the game continued to a second overtime.

Jordyn Neal helped power the Lady Pirates offense in the second overtime by knocking down a couple of 3-pointers and PSC walked away with the victory.

All five of Pensacola's starters scored in double digits with ZaMaria Polk and Lenaejha Evans leading the way with 16 points each. Polk also recorded a double-double in the game by pulling down a team high 11 rebounds. Anita Payne recorded 12 points while Jordyn Neal and Kaiya Burnett both chipped in 11.

The Lady Pirates will conclude their season on Saturday, February 22nd when they host Northwest Florida State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm. 

Pensacola will be honoring its second Athletics Hall of Fame class on Saturday. The ceremony will begin at approximately 7:00 pm.
