Lady Pirates Add Two More

The Pensacola State women's basketball team has signed incoming freshmen Aryana Naylor and Douthshine Prien to letters of intent or the 2020-21 season.

Naylor is a 6'2 center who attended Hamady High School in Flint, Michigan.

She helped lead the Hawks to a 21-2 overall record and a Ganesee Area Conference Championship (GAC) with a perfect 14-0 mark. Her team also had the chance to compete in the Regional Finals until winter sports were suspended due to COVID-19.

In her senior campaign she averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals per game. Those stats helped her become the all-time leading scorer and rebounder at Hamady.  Naylor was named to the All-GAC First Team and Flint-Area's Dream Team.

Naylor's athletic ability and will to be tougher than her opponents on the boards is going to be a huge asset to the Lady Pirates when battling inside the paint.

The Lady Pirate's have also added Prien who is a 5'7 guard from Boca Raton, Florida.

In her senior campaign at West Boca Raton High School she averaged 20 points, nine rebounds and nine assists per game earning her a spot on the All Palm Beach County First Team. As a junior, Prien averaged 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals a game.

Not only is Prien a force to be reckoned with on the court, this holds true in the classroom as well. She is a member of the National Honors Society and a Florida Bright Future's scholarship recipient.
